adoption home studies and adoptive family education
OUR PRIMARY MISSION
At Integrity Home Studies, our primary mission is to provide pre and post adoption support and resources for adoptive families. As an Oregon adoption agency, we exist to approve, prepare, equip, and build up families with resources targeted toward their specific situations. We provide home studies that are thorough and give clarity and safety for the families and their adopted children, and continued support after their child(ren) comes home.
OUR SOCIAL WORKERS WORK WITH YOU
Our social workers work with families who are considering adoption whether that be international, private in-country, or through the U.S. foster system. Our goal is to provide services that increase family awareness and preparedness for welcoming a child through adoption into their home and family system. We take families through a proven training program, tailored to the adoption methods they have chosen. The home study process then provides the opportunity for further growth, development, reflection, and education as their social worker guides them through the vetting process of adoption. And finally, we continue to support and educate families post-adoption, through thoughtful post-placement visits and resources. We want families to have the best possibility of strong attachment and to prevent the prevalence of failed adoptions.
education methods
The education methods we use in training families are based on Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and meet Hague requirements. They prepare families for the journey of adoption, introduce them to Trust-Based Relational Interventions, cover the special issues involved with adopting children from other countries and races, provide education in child development, and common medical conditions, and prepare families to do the hard work of bonding and attachment. IHS social workers also recommend further reading and training as they see needs arise.
You will never regret putting more tools in your adoptive parenting toolbox. It’s what love looks like!
